Register now to attend Local Jobs First Policy information sessions
Health services are invited to attend information sessions outlining the Victorian Government’s Local Jobs First policy which ensures that Victorian businesses and employees continue to benefit from government investment.
Since August 2018, the Office of Industry Participation and Jobs (OIPJ) – based within the Victorian Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) – has been working closely with government agencies to implement the policy across the state, including at HPV and public health services.
To support agencies in implementing Local Jobs First, OIPJ is hosting several information sessions. These information sessions are open to both health service executives and operational procurement professionals, and afternoon tea is provided.
These sessions will provide an opportunity for health service staff to learn about:
- The new Local Jobs First Policy and how it applies to health services.
- How other important polices such as Victoria’s Social Procurement Framework and the Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment Guidelines apply to them and their projects.
Come along and hear from the OIPJ, Local Jobs First Commissioner Don Matthews, and representatives from the Industry Capability Network, the Department of Treasury and Finance’s Social Procurement team, and DJPR's Procurement Director Tom Ingham.
