Latest Common Catalogue developments

HPV has appointed a dedicated change manager, Owen Smith, to support health services in adopting the Common Catalogue, a key initiative for the Victorian public health sector.

Owen has extensive change management experience in both the health sector and corporate roles and has been on the road visiting health services across the state throughout September and October.

HPV continues to engage with a number of regional health services, including Goulburn Valley Health, Northeast Health Wangaratta, Latrobe Regional Health, Djerriwarrh Health Service, East Grampians Health Service, Wimmera Healthcare Group, Bendigo Health Care Group and  Echuca Regional Health.

Following a feedback phase, HPV is now working with health service representatives to undertake user acceptance testing for two major catalogue enhancements that enable:

  • Health service employees to see images of the products they are ordering by connecting the product image URL from the catalogue module to iProcurement module.
  • The Common Catalogue to incorporate the use of categories other than default HPV categories in cases where changing categories will impact health service budgeting processes.

A number of other enhancements identified following feedback from the Melbourne Health pilot are also in progress to help streamline the Common Catalogue introduction. Watch this space for further developments!
