Our Organisation

HPV is a dynamic organisation passionate about smarter procurement to help Victoria's health services free up resources for patient care.

When Health Purchasing Victoria was first established in 2001, it comprised a team of three people, a limited budget and a wide-ranging mandate under an amendment to the Health Services Act 1988 to collectively manage contracts on behalf of Victoria’s public health services.

As at 2016-17, the total value under HPV contract management is estimated at $914.7 million, with total benefits of $103 million including $30 million in cost reduction.
