Health Purchasing Victoria presents a unique professional development opportunity for procurement professionals leading to an internationally recognised qualification
Health Purchasing Victoria (HPV) has a limited number of training places available for procurement professionals in Victorian public health services, in conjunction with selected HPV staff, to achieve a procurement qualification. In keeping with our vision to be ‘a health procurement leader in Australasia, acknowledged for innovation, ethical procurement practices and transformation of the health supply chain’ HPV has developed and received accreditation for coordination of a twelve month training program which leads to an internationally recognised qualification accredited by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) is the peak industry body for the procurement profession, promoting best practice, raising awareness of the profession and providing training and accreditation, with 45,000 members worldwide. Its role is similar to that of CPA Australia for accountants.
The HPV Procurement Professionals’ Program (HPV PPP) will increase the technical skills of procurement staff through a high quality, intensive training program targeted to the specific needs of the public health sector. Participants will develop the real skills and competencies required to perform more effectively and to maximise cost savings for their organisation.
The HPV PPP program is a qualification based 12 month program involving attendance at 11 full day workshops and completion of assessment tasks. The participants will work towards achieving the CIPS qualification ‘Foundation Diploma in Purchasing and Supply’ as well as completing selected nationally recognised Procurement units from the Public Sector Training Package. Please refer to the course outline for more details.
