Rural & Regional New Stock Item Requests

Since April 2011, HPV has been processing requests for new stock items for the Rural & Regional (R&R) Catalogue. Bendigo Supply Department continues to be involved with the process at a supervisory level.

Rural & Regional Catalogue Data Cleansing

Analysis of the R&R Catalogue has identified the use of UNSPSC (Category Code) 4229.5100 (Surgical equipment and accessories and related products) as an area for review. The correct use of the Category Code is important as it can help with expense management, targeted cost reduction and the integrity of reporting. Over 7000 stock items had been catalogued using this code and most did not fit the category. The correct Category Codes were identified and validated and are now in the process of being added to the R&R Catalogue.

The graphs below show a ‘before and after’ and highlight how items are now spread over the correct Category Codes.

Further analysis of the R&R Catalogue is being carried out to identify other areas for review. Further information will be made available as the review progresses.
